The Altai Regional public organization 'Gebler Ecological Society' is engaged in the protection of wildlife, saving rare species of birds and plants from extinction, preserving and maintaining a favorable environment for humans.
In 2012, 'Gebler Ecological Society' achieved the cancellation of spring hunting for hog and waterfowl in the Altai Territory. In 2014, it prepared and published a petition addressed to the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology with demands to establish a ban on spring bird hunting in Russia and accelerate Russia’s accession to the Bonn Convention on the Protection of Migratory Species of Animals.
