The movement 'Za prirodu' carried out work to protect the rights and interests of citizens affected by adverse environmental conditions in the Chelyabinsk region. Among the goals of the movement were the implementation of environmental protection activities, environmental education of the population, as well as holding hearings on the design and placement of objects that can cause environmental harm and threaten the health of citizens. In the 2000s, thanks to the actions of the movement 'Za prirodu', several acts and decrees of the authorities that threatened the environment of the region were invalidated.
