Former journalist of the “Project” media. Previously, she worked for Novaya Gazeta, Kommersant, Vedomosti, and TV Rain.
In the “Project” she wrote about corruption in the regions, worked in Belarus during the protests after the 2020 elections. She was the author of one of the most high-profile investigations—“Investigation about how children stopped being the owners of the camp” about the destruction of the children’s camp for the sake of the famous “palace” near Gelendzhik.
In July 2021, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia declared the legal entity of the Project media an “undesirable organization.” Olga Churakova, along with other journalists, was included in the register of “foreign agents.”
