The 'Samara Center for Gender Studies' was engaged in scientific research and development in the field of social sciences and humanities. The work was carried out mainly on the development and implementation of educational programs on women’s and gender studies in Samara universities (in particular, Samara State University). A summer school on gender studies was held twice (in 1996 and 2013).

The center’s research projects covered a wide range of issues—from gender stereotypes in school to gender policy in various fields.
