The association represents the interests of people complaining about torture before investigation and court; renders aid in receiving compensation and in case of necessity in holding medical rehabilitation.

After being included into the register of foreign agents, the committee declared it stopped its activity. Members of the project established the Team against Torture. In August 2023, the Ministry of Justice added the Team against Torture into the item of the register that already had the Committee against Torture in.
