The European Endowment for Democracy is an organization created in 2013 by the European Union and EU member states as an autonomous international trust fund providing grants to democratic movements, civic and political activists and independent journalists “to promote democracy” in European policy states neighborhoods in the Western Balkans, Turkey and beyond.
