The Committee for the Prevention of Torture is a human rights organization that investigates cases of torture. It appeared in 2000 in order to induce the prosecutor’s office to take active steps to disclose this type of crime and bring the perpetrators to criminal responsibility. The most famous cases of the Committee include the case of Aleksey Mikheev, who was severely beaten in the police department, and the investigation into the facts of the mass beating of residents of Blagoveshchensk. The Committee Against Torture is also involved in the protection of human rights in the North Caucasus.

This NGO was founded in 2016 by members of the 'Committee Against Torture', which was declared an 'foreign agent'.
