Krasnodar Memorial aimed to overcome totalitarian stereotypes, assert human rights in state politics and civil society, and perpetuate the memory of the victims of political repression in the Krasnodar Territory.

Monuments for the victims of political repressions were erected in many cities of Kuban by the staff of the regional branch of 'Memorial'. Additionally, during its 37 years of operation, nine volumes of the 'Victims of Political Repressions in the Krasnodar Territory' were published.

The Krasnodar branch of Memorial was recognized as a 'foreign agent' due to its foreign sources of funding. According to the Ministry of Justice, the organization received money from the Polish Embassy in Russia. The money were allegedly used to publish the book Martirolog of the Kuban Poles.
