She was a journalist for the “Project” media, engaged in investigations and reporting mainly on social topics. Her latest investigation published in the “Project” is about the illegal felling of the taiga by an Irkutsk businessman, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk region Yevgeny Bakurov. In July 2021, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia declared the legal entity of the Project media an “undesirable organization.” Yulia Lukyanova, along with other journalists, was included in the register of “foreign agents.”
