Samara non-profit partnership 'Internet Community' was created in 2013 and positioned itself as the Russian branch of the international organization 'Internet Society' (ISOC). The Samara partnership saw the development of the Internet on the territory of Russia as its goal.
The organization was engaged in the development of the Cyrillic segment of the network, educational projects, translated into Russian the IETF magazine, which is published by the Internet Society, and was nominated for the Runet Prize.

Reason for recognition
In August 2016, members of the 'Internet Community' took part in the discussion of anti-terrorist amendments of the so-called 'Yarovaya Package'. The Ministry of Justice considered the dissemination of opinions 'about the decisions and policies adopted by the state bodies' as a political activity. 'Internet Community' was recognized as a 'foreign agent'.
