The Perm Regional Human Rights Center is engaged in the protection of prisoners' rights. The main goal of the organization is to assist citizens in protecting their personal rights and freedoms.
Particular attention is paid to the protection of information rights, the rights of migrants, the rights of prisoners, and the rights of persons who have suffered from the illegal actions of law enforcement officials.
In addition, the Perm Regional Human Rights Center is studying the problem of sexual violence in prison.

During the inspections, employees of Russian Ministry of Justice revealed signs of cooperation between the Non-commercial organisation and 'foreign investors'. In addition, the representatives of the Ministry said that Perm Regional Human Rights Center has political influence on society - it holds round tables, defends people in court, provides free legal advice and publishes booklets explaining Russian laws.
