The activities of the Mass Media Defence Center are aimed at establishing the institute of freedom of speech in Russia: for 15 years, it has been assisting journalists in the legal field. The lawyers from the center handle up to a hundred court cases a year and help journalists all over the country. Only over the past 5 years, the organization has provided more than 22 thousand consultations to media representatives.

In addition, the lawyers of the Mass Media Defence Centre organize dozens of seminars, webinars, and trainings a year to protect journalists, bloggers, and photographers from prosecution and administrative penalties.
