The public organization 'Population and Development' was engaged in gender issues: it held open lectures on the protection of women's reproductive health, published articles and other materials on sexual education, abortion, combined hormonal contraception.

In 2015, the organization was recognized as a 'foreign agent'. After being included in the register of 'foreign agents', she participated in the organization of the seminar of the European Society for Contraception of Reproductive Health, which was held in St. Petersburg in 2017. It was officially liquidated on September 20, 2019.
