Journalist for Important Stories, member of the “Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project” (OCCRP). She was awarded the Pulitzer Prize (2017) for her research in collaboration with journalists from the “International Consortium of Investigative Journalism” (ICIJ) on the Panama Papers. She worked in the news department of “Autoradio,” in the department of politics “Gazeta,” in the newspaper “Vzglyad,” in “Marker,” “The Village.” In November 2020, Olesya Shmagun published an article about the corruption of medical officials in the Rostov region for “Important stories.” Participated in the project “Kassandra” in collaboration with 400 other journalists in 2020.
