The “Humanitarian Action” foundation was registered in St. Petersburg in 2001 as a successor to the organization “Doctors of the World.” It is engaged in the prevention of HIV, viral hepatitis and tuberculosis, and provides assistance to drug addicts, sex workers, and their partners. In addition, the foundation provides psychological and legal advice and helps get access to antiretroviral therapy.
