The 'Dauria' Public Ecological Center has been operating on the territory of the Trans-Baikal Territory since 1998. The main areas of its activity is promoting the development and support of protected natural areas, as well as monitoring decisions and environmental laws. The activists of the center participated in all-Russian environmental projects, were engaged in garbage collection on large reservoirs of Transbaikalia, conducted information and educational campaigns and helped local communities in obtaining grants.
