The Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation is an international charitable organization that is part of the George Soros Foundation. The organization began working in Russia in 1995, it assisted in the purchase of equipment for educational institutions, in the acquisition of libraries, provided grants to Russian scientists and researchers, collaborated with human rights organizations such as Memorial, Agora, Committee against Torture, NGOs and independent media.
